ROCKWÖRKS is a one-of-a-kind band
program, in which musicians are placed
together into groups with other players
of similar age, ability, and musical
interests. Bands play a gig at the end of
each eight week session.

Students can enroll singly or along with
a friend, and they will be placed in a
band with players of similar ages and
musical interests. All bands are led by
experienced teachers who direct the
groups through various aspects of
ensemble training, as well as help
groups select a set list.

The idea for creating the ROCKWÖRKS
program came from the desire to give
the rock band experience to anyone
who wants it. There are so many
aspiring musicians, young and old,
wishing to create and perform music
alongside other like-minded people.
What ROCKWÖRKS does is put those
people together in an environment
where they can do just that, and learn
from experienced instructors on how to
do it well. The instructors encourage the
musicians to work hard and to challenge
themselves, and in the end, put on a
show with music that they can be proud
of.

The frustrations experienced by the
novice musicians with organizing a rock
band range from not being able to find
other people to play with and
organization, to not having a place to
jam, or having an end-goal in mind while
rehearsing the group. The
ROCKWÖRKS program solves those
problems by providing the place and
time, putting the right people together,
and organizing the bands in a way that
delivers results.

And it's just a whole lot of fun!
