INSTRUCTOR PROFILES
Peter Muschong began playing guitar at the
age of 6, and has been teaching
professionally since 1997. He holds his
Bachelor of Music degree in jazz guitar
performance from the University of Miami. A
true working musician, Peter keeps busy with
multiple projects and groups, such as Seven
League Boots, Caviar, The Aristocrats, and
The Late Shift Orchestra.

Peter has been heard on WXRT's Sound
Opinions and Mancow's Morning Madhouse
on Q101, as well as appearing on MTV. He
has performed extensively across the United
States and also in Hong Kong.
David Saenger is a versatile guitarist that
excels in styles ranging from jazz to classical to
rock. He performs regularly with his original rock
band, NYCO, which is fronted by Ted Atkatz,
principal percussionist of the Chicago
Symphony Orchestra.

In 1996, David began studying classical guitar
with Julie Goldberg at St. Xavier University and
also performed with the university jazz band. In
1998 David transferred to Millikin University to
complete a Bachelor Degree in Commercial
Music with an emphasis in guitar performance
and recording studio (engineering and
performing).
David graduated in 2004 with a Masters Degree
in Jazz Performance at the Chicago College of
Performing Arts at Roosevelt University. While
there, he performed with the CCPA Jazz
Orchestra, jazz combos, and sat first chair in the
classical guitar ensemble. He studied with John
McLean for jazz guitar and Pamela Kimmel for
classical guitar. He has also furthered his
studies and/or played with Bob Palmieri (DePaul
University), Steve Houghton, David Berkman,
David Friesan, and Tom Sanchez (former
guitarist of Liquid Soul).

Guitarist Jim Konsbruck opened Northwest
Music School in the spring of 2002, having
taught actively in the Chicago area since 1996.
He developed beginning ROCKWÖRKS  in
2005, responding to the needs of students to
participate in an organized band program.

Jim began his studies under Dave Uhrich
(fusion/rock guitar) and later under Frank
Dawson (jazz guitar). He is a graduate of
Columbia College in Chicago and received a
Master of Music degree in Classical Guitar
Performance in 2003 from the Music
Conservatory at Roosevelt University, where he
studied under Paul Henry.

Jim is currently on the faculty at Valparaiso
University in Indiana. He also serves as Director
for the Chicago campus of DayJams, a national
music summer program operated through the
National Guitar Workshop. Previous teaching
positions include Dominican University in River
Forest, IL., Oakton Community College’s
Alliance for Lifelong Learning (ALL) program in
Des Plaines, IL., and Niles West High School in
Skokie, IL.
